Watch

I rarely wear a watch anymore. When we lived on land I put on my eyeglasses and then my watch every morning. I was addicted to my watch, addicted to time, how long it took for things, being prompt/early.  Now I find I rarely need my watch. While sailing the GPS had an internal click with display for my log entries, but most times I just depends on the sun. When you are "out in the sun" you quickly learn how to tell time by the position of the sun. At least close enough for what I need - time for lunch, time for dinner, and sunset! But I believe it is because I see the sun everyday. Living in PA we had many grey skies without a peak at the sun, and when that's the case, you can't really rely on the sun.  I still have some great watches, but with stopping them when I don't need them, the battery will last longer and I have so many more jewelry options. And I'm sure my stress level of being "on time" is greatly reduced, because the boat and dinghy only go so fast, and life aboard moves even slower.

Today I attended a seminar to learn more about blogging.  I'm going to give this another shot and see if I can make it work.  I enjoy writing and keep a journal of our boating adventures every day.  Included in that is the weather, what we ate, who we met, what we bought.  Most importantly it includes where we went and how long it took us to get there.  We can always reference back and see how long or how short of a trip it was!!  And when Doug says I think we haven't had ....... for dinner in awhile, I pull out the journal and say, yes we just had that last Thursday!  But it's also a diary of sorts to my thoughts and ideas and this is what I'd like to share on this blog.

Doug is back up to Sackets Harbor to begin sanding the bottom of the boat.  After it's sanded and paint with saltwater paint, it can be launched.  Once in the water, it's boat sweet boat!!!  Can't wait!!
